Vannacht kwam de wind even op en op de NAXTEX werd een prob. thunderstorm soon-waarschuwing voor S-Evia doorgegeven, maar behalve van wat nachtelijke onrust bleven we van elk onheil gespaard! In tegenstelling tot gisteren krijgen we een erg sportieve start: met de wind op kop, wordt het hakken in een erg korte zee.Om enige vordering te maken moeten we korte slagen maken - op motor want er is niet voldoende wind om snelheid in de boot te houden. Het grootzeil staat bij maar de erg wispelturige wind maakt het onmogelijk de high aspect fok bij te zetten. Het geheel wordt nog spannender door de aanwezigheid van twee Canadairs, die aan het oefenen zijn. Als we Ag. Apostoloi dwars hebben, wordt het rustiger en kunnen we de koers naar Chalkis aanhouden met een grootzeil dat net niet kilt.

Cette nuit le vent s'est soudain levé et sur le NAVTEX un bulletin d'alerte prob. thunderstorm soon a été lancé pour S-Evvoikos, mais à part l'inquiétude nocturne nous n'avons subi aucun désagrément. Contrairement à hier notre navigation connaît un début sportif: vent debout, notre progression est pénible dans une mer courte, hachée. Nous tirons de bords - au moteur car il n'y a pas assez de vent pour maintenir une vitesse raisonnable. Nous avons hissé la grand-voile mais le vent capricieux ne permet pas de dérouler notre foc de route. La situation se corse par par la présence soudaine de deux Canadairs qui s'entraînent. Au travers d'Ag. Apostoloi, la mer se calme et nous pouvons garder notre cap sur Chalkis avec une grand-voile qui ne fasseye tout juste pas!

This night suddenly the wind came up and at our NAVTEX a "prob. thunderstorm soon" message was broadcasted for S-Evia, but except for some nocturnal anxiety we got no trouble. Contrary to our sailing on yesterday, our start is rather rough: wind on the bow, our progression is rather difficult in short seas. We are tacking under engine and mainsail, because there is to little wind to keep some reasonable speed, and the capricious wind doesn't allow to sail under the high aspect foresail. The situation becomes more spicy due the presence of two Canadairs making exercices. When we have Ag. Apostoloi on midship, the sea is easing and we can steer a course to Chalkis. At the approach of Chalkis from the south the first starboard buoy of the channel is not easy to find but it's very important to keep clear of the shoal. Further on we pass close to the well conspicious cement factory on our port, just before the new road bridge. A few big ships are waiting on the anchorage at our starboard for their load.
